Sleeping is art! If this is true, like I believe, I am quite an artist. I have been sleeping with great success in various airports, a few trainstations, toilets, many different floor surfaces and have also fallen asleep in an aeroplane in the middle of takeoff (I am not joking. It has happened twice!!). However, last friday I spend my night in Luton airport in London and since I had been sleeping enough already, I had time to observe the best ways of sleeping in airports. I came up with 3 main categories which i put in order and found pros and cons... (sometimes I feel my life is very very meaningless...so enjoy it)
Since I like sleeping on the floor anyway, this is by far the nicest way to sleep in airport. Offers you various different sleeping positions in various parts of the airport.
+ it is just confortable and you can just slide into a sleeping bag if you want+ its great way to spend time to decide how to make a pillow
+ you can freely choose your place, which gives you the option to meet new people
- floors tend to be freezing- you always end up sleeping in front of a store etc. that opens at 4 in the morning and you feel like a homeless person, when someone kicks you awake- its so confortable, that it might feel too confortable and end up missing your flight...
This luxury way of airport sleeping lost its posh touch, when the engineers decided it would be a good idea to put handles on the benches. Before that this was easily the best way of sleeping.
+ you do not have to lie on the floor+ benches are usually nice and soft enough
- the handles make you sleep in 2 or 3 seats in a position that you did not think was possible for the human body until you actually lie on it
- stares of the angry people in the morning when you wake up because they wanted to take just the seat where you are sleeping (happens mainly in Germany and Finland)- every part of your body feels like you have been run over by a tank and then put into a box designed for a trumpet.
+ only your imagination is the limit... bag as a pillow, legs on the bench... left leg on the bag, right on the bench, head on the floor...
+ keeps your brain at full work
- its not nice to fall on your ass between the bag and bench in the middle of your dreams
- some part of your body WILL hurt a lot in the morning
- staring people
Of course these are just a small part of the variety of the airport sleeping world. Rest of them I will include in my doctoral thesis...Sweet dreams!

Sleeping in toilets!? I think that there is more to this story than you are telling us!
You just concentrate on the texts in Finnish ;)
